Expressing each of your gifts to make a difference in all parts of your life

Sometimes we need to acquire new skills. Sometimes we need to develop existing skills. But sometimes we simply need to reveal hidden ones. To identify the gifts we most enjoy using, the ones we never get the opportunity to employ, the ones we want to use more often and fully, and bring them to the forefront of our lives.

That’s how we grow our value, build our business and sustain ourselves through the next stage of life. We build a set of skills that allows us to earn an income in as many ways as possible.

I’ve spent the past few years coming out of music hibernation. After more than a decade of composing and performing in secret, I finally started sharing my original songs with the world, both in concert and digital form.

But here’s the situation I found myself in. I knew there were musical skills I was building, skills that contributed to my story as an individual, that I wasn’t engaging in the service of my work. I knew there were intrinsic artistic gifts that deserved a more prominent place in my life. And that bothered me. I felt like I was hiding from the world. Like I wasn’t respecting the gifts I’d been given. And I wasn’t okay with those feelings of lack. There was just too much cognitive dissonance.

And so, I committed to bringing those new skills to my audience, clients and prospects in a number of different ways. I launched a new website that educates people about the other ways I can serve them through music. And now I can confidently say, without feeling hypocritical or cowardly, freedom truly is finding a home for all of your talents.
